MEET YOUR AAFW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Wendell Funk, President
As Ad Fed's acting president, Wendell Funk is up for the challenge. In
fact, Wendell is accustomed to the challenges that come with a leadership
role. It's a role he takes on every day as The Wichita Eagle's Advertising
Director/Classified. A role he thrives on.
A graduate of Bethel College, Wendell earned a bachelors degree in
business. He and his wife, Shelley, have three children (two human and one
canine). In his free time Wendell enjoys sports and music, and coaches a
variety of youth sports, with his girls softball team recently placing
second in the AFA National Championships in the 10-Under division.
Tracie McKnight, Vice President-ADDY's
A self-described workaholic, Tracie McKnight thrives on the fast pace of
the advertising world. As this year's vice president in charge of ADDY's
and an account executive for Associated Advertising, it's a pace she keeps
easily.
A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Southern Colorado,
Tracie and her husband, Wes, moved to Wichita two years ago. In their free
time the couple enjoys watching sports (football, hockey and NASCAR) and
playing with their two Weimaraners. Tracie is excited to have the
opportunity to represent her agency through her active participation in Ad
Fed.
Steve Falke, Past President
What's Steve Falke's reason for choosing advertising? "Everything everyone
needs needs advertising." That, and his desire to make a difference.
As
past president and current executive committee member, Steve is doing his
best to do just that.
Being able to learn and share ideas with other intensely creative people
has been a big motivator for Steve, both through his position as president
of The Golden Plains Group, Inc., which includes Cornerstone Studios,
Crimson Heart Records and Golden Plains Publishing, and through his
involvement with Ad Fed. Married to Julia Prater for 12 years, the two
share five children of the four-legged variety: three dogs and two cats.
Steve earned a diploma in the recording arts from The Recording Workshop
and holds associate of arts degrees in both music and audio engineering
from Northeast Community College. In his free time he enjoys traveling,
golf and restoring old homes.
Lori Nelson, President-Elect & Programs and Communications Committee
Chair
As president-elect and chair of the programs & communications committees,
there's nothing Lori Nelson can't do. She sews her own clothes. Works
full-time as an account executive for Armstrong|Shank Advertising while
completing her master's degree. Plays piano. Has traveled extensively.
Speaks German fluently. Raises pigs and cattle. Okay, not anymore, but she
used to.
As this years president-elect, Lori's dedicated to making Ad Fed a fun and
worthwhile organization for all involved. A K-State graduate, Lori enjoys
reading, walk-jogs along the river and planning her next big trip. Oh, and
did we mention she's single?
